Dogs are wonderful animals to be with; this is why it is not surprising why they are very popular pets. They are very cuddly, loyal, and protective. However, there are some dog behaviors that sometimes catch us by surprise or perplex us.

Dog behavior sometimes depends on the dog breed. What may be the behavior of a dog from a certain breed may not be the behavior of a dog from another breed.

An Afghan Hound, for example, is a very proud and stubborn dog. It is also very choosy with the food it eats. It is also not very cordial, especially around strangers. Another aloof dog breed is the Finnish Spitz. It is independent and intelligent.

Sometimes, the appearance of the dog does not really determine its behavior. It is a common misconception that pugs are scary and aggressive dogs because of their intimidating and grouchy appearance. But the truth is pugs are very friendly and playful. They are also very sweet and they like to amuse the people around them. Another scary-looking dog is the German Shepherd. It is intimidating because of its size and is most commonly seen as a dog trained by the police. But it is actually very intelligent and very amiable with children.

As dog owners, it is very important for you to understand dog behavior and learn how to deal with it. For example, some dogs can be very aggressive. You should know what causes the aggression of the dog. They can be medical reasons or territorial reasons. You should keep away people and other animals from dogs when the latter are aggressive.
